Open Day a Huge Success.

Stewards Academy opened its door to over a thousand visitors from the local community when the annual Open Day took place.Visitors were greeted by the school council and staff - nearly 80 pupils strong and staff who escorted them on a tour of the school. Many of the visitors during the day commented on the calm, purposeful, orderly atmosphere around the school - and the maturity, enthusiasm and pride of their prefect escorts. In the evening the hall was packed to listen to the Headteacher Rhonda Murthar speak of Stewards’ best ever exam results this summer, as well as many other achievements and developments within the past academic year.

Visitors were particularly struck by the confidence of the pupil speakers - current Head Girl Abbie Martin and Head Boy Dennis Perry, past Head Girl Lottie Shelton and past Head Boy Jack Baldwin as well as six year 7 pupils. Despite having been in school for less than 2 weeks the year 7 pupils spoke of how happy they were in their new school, how much the teachers and the other pupils had made them feel welcome and the progress they had made already in both a social and academic sense. Open Day was certainly deemed to be very successful by everyone involved. Anyone who was unable to visit the school and would still like to do so is welcome to contact the school to arrange another visit very soon.
