Chinese New Year
Year 7 have been studying Mythical Creatures in their Art lessons.
Year 7 have been studying Mythical Creatures in their Art lessons. We decided to introduce textiles to their work to add different textures and give them experience with a variety of materials. The pupils produced a Chinese dragon and worked well in a team. Every decision was made by a class majority, which helped decide the shape, colour and design of the dragon. Chicken wire and papier-mâché were used to produce the head and each member of 7RP painted a section of the head.
We took part in the Chinese New Year Assembly where pupils had the opportunity to show off their creation.
“I really enjoyed making the dragon, I wish you could all make one!” Jon Lester-Hill.
“It took a lot of hard work, but it paid off in the end.” Daisy Livett.
“We all took part in producing this dragon and learnt how to co-operate with each other.” Jack Rust.
“I really enjoyed making the dragon and I hope you use it in the future.” Jay Breeze.
