Exam results 2021

Stewards Academy were delighted to welcome the Class of 2021 in today to receive their GCSE results.

The top 10 students in the year received over a 100 top grades (8 & 9) between them and are all going on to sixth forms to study A Levels in a range of subjects including maths, further maths, history, psychology, and English Literature. They were overwhelmed with their successes, and many were lost for words. When asked how they felt the responses ranged from “…I can’t believe it…thank you…I’m so happy...I’m so proud of myself…”

The top 3 are Academic Award winner for 2021, Hassan Miah, who achieved 9 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s in his second language English Language and English Literature. He is going on to study A Levels in maths, physics, further maths, and business studies.

Katie Swallow, our Citizenship prize winner, who achieved 10 grade 9s. She plans to go to Herts and Essex to study history, Spanish and maths.

And, Bryony Witt-Davies, one of our Jack Petchey winners for contribution to academy life, who achieved 8 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s. She is also going to Herts and Essex to study history, psychology, maths and one other subject to be decided!

There have been several other impressive individual achievements within the year group; with pupils achieving the results they need to go on to the next stage of their education whether A Levels, BTecs, or apprenticeships. One of these students is Mason, one of our Jack Petchey winners this year, who is going on to do Gaming and Animation at Harlow College.

Helen Ginger, Headteacher, said: “I am so proud of our young adults and what they have achieved. After 17 months of disruption to their education and government changes to exams and assessments as the year went on, the pupils were understandably nervous and excited to receive their teacher assessed grades today. It was a pleasure to witness the joy and excitement as students opened their results, realising they have achieved what they need for their futures. I wish them all the best of luck as they move on from Stewards and hope to look forward to hearing about their future achievements.”
