Stewards Academy welcomed representatives from the National Citizen Service (NCS) in to a recent year 11 assembly to celebrate our achievement in getting students involved. With 70 students ready to take part in this year’s programme Stewards is number one in Essex and second in both Hertfordshire and Essex.

The NCS programme is a fantastic opportunity for 16 and 17 year olds to fast-track their futures and stand out from the crowd. Students will participate in a 4-week programme over their summer break where they get to meet a variety of new people and gain invaluable skills outside of a classroom environment.

For those involved they will begin their adventures from late June 2017. They will embark on 4 night residential, experience life in University on a second residential, and then carry out a community based project within their local area.

Gareth Hughes, Head of Year 11, said: “This is an amazing opportunity for the students and I am pleased so many have chosen to be part of it. We look forward to hearing more about it after the summer. Good luck to all those taking part, enjoy this fantastic experience.”
