Wizard of Oz
Stewards Academy performers leave their audiences green with envy after magical journey to the emerald city.
‘The Wizard of Oz’ was performed between the 22nd and 24th March, by a cast of 38 pupils at Stewards Academy. During the five thrilling and truly professional performances the cast entertained around 300 local primary school children who were engaged and inspired from the outset.
Family and friends took to their seats surrounding the yellow brick road in the three evening performances. They immersed themselves in the charming story of Kansas girl Dorothy Gale and her three colourful companions Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion.
The magnificent band, made up of teachers and friends of the school, helped create a modern and enchanting spin on the production which had all audiences singing and clapping along.
Keeley Thurley, Drama Teacher and Director commented, ‘The cast have worked extremely hard and should be extremely proud of their achievements. Many of our students have the ability to pursue a career in the Performing Arts field. They are an inspiration to us all.’
