Headteacher Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
There are very few things which go on in the Academy which the Headteacher is not aware of but last month the Governors managed to surprise her.
The first Ms Murthar knew of the plot was when she was surprised by an invitation to the inaugural awards ceremony for the Essex Teaching Awards at Anglia Ruskin University. She was even more surprised on the evening to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of 24 years of devotion and outstanding service to Stewards Academy and the pupils who have attended the school in that time.
The citation described her as having “exceptional commitment to diversity and inclusion and the development of a true school community” and a “clear commitment to the professional development of all staff, valuing all members and ensuring they have the resources to do the best they can”.
Ms Murthar’s nomination now goes forward to the national awards. I’m sure that the whole school will be rooting for her.
